Velocity Micro Announces New Powerful ProMagix HD150 Workstations

Velocity Micro has revealed its new workstation: ProMagix HD150, designed especially for working professionals. After the much-awaited reveal of the next-gen GPUs and processors, AMD fans are in for a treat, as Velocity Micro has just announced a new powerful workstation that is powered by the mighty AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ PRO. Velocity Micro is a much-renowned company widely regarded as the best in the business for producing high-end workstations and providing other computing services required for professionals. 

According to the official press release, the new workstation is called “the ProMagix HD150,” and under the hood, you’ll find the AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ PRO powering it. This workstation has been crafted keeping in mind the demand for performance in the field of AI & Machine Learning, other intense computing calculations, and complex real-time rendering, which test even the most potent configurations out there.

As per the official information, the ProMagix HD150 works on Asus® WRX80 motherboards that feature up to 128 CPU-threads, and 8-channel DDR4 ECC Registered RAM of 2 Terabytes. With such configuration, the company is optimistic that it will be of immense help to professionals where data computing and other intense workflows are critical.

The CEO of Velocity Micro, Randy Copeland, noted that:

with the inclusion of the Threadripper PRO into their official workstation line, the company now have the most potent, versatile set of professional solutions available anywhere.


He also added that the performance advantages, especially for those complicated, intense workflows, are “incredible.”

While on the other hand, AMD’s Chris Kilburn revealed that the AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro powered ProMagix HD150 will provide extreme level performance, with a high sense of security that will be a boon to the professional environments.

The official specifications of the ProMagix HD150 are as follows:

  • Up to 64 cores/128 threads @ 4.2GHz Boost 
  • 256MB total cache
  • Asus WRX80 motherboards, with Pro WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WiFi
  • DDR4 ECC Registered 8-channel RAM of up to 2 TB
  • 128 PCIe Gen 4.0 lanes

The workstation is available from $4,629 onwards.
