March 3, 2021, is the date when the AMD Radeon RX 6000 series will get a new GPU, as announced by the company’s Twitter handle. The RX 6000 series was announced in 2020 during the month of October to give tough competition to Nvidia’s RTX 30 series GPUs. The new series of GPUs by AMD includes the Radeon RX 6900 XT, the Radeon RX 6800, and the Radeon RX 6800 XT. We are not yet sure whether there will be more GPUs in this particular series by AMD.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090, GeForce RTX 3080, and the GeForce RTX 3070 graphics cards will face some good competition from AMD Radeon RX 6800, AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, and AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT. Nvidia has brought in another GPU, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, which is a cheaper option. Nvidia’s wide range of products allows the customers to be very flexible with their choices; AMD has been trying to do the same with its series of GPUs both in price and quality of performance. AMD’s new GPU will launch on the 3rd of March at 11 AM US time, according to the tweet.
AMD has confirmed the launch of a new GPU or GPUs. But which particular is going to launch first, that is still unknown, It could be the Radeon RX 6700 series with the normal and the XT version, or it could be the Radeon RX 6900 (the non-XT variant). The launch event has been announced a day before Nvidia’s most affordable GeForce RTX 3060 GPUs go on sale on the 25th of February. People feel that AMD will be targeting a more budget-friendly audience, and hence it seems that the first product series will the Radeon RX 6700 series.
The latest GPU from AMD is based on RDNA 2 architecture for gaming. The same architecture is being used by the Xbox Series X|S and the PlayStation 5. There will be hardware that will support ray-tracing, the AMD Infinity Cache will reduce the latency, AMD Smart Access Memory works when the card is being used with an AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPU having a compatible motherboard.
