After Huawei Mate X, launched in 2019, Huawei Mate X2 will be the next in line. The earlier smartphone was launched to provide fair competition to the Samsung Galaxy Fold. X2’s render images have been leaked on a few Chinese websites. The photos show two cameras in front with an inward folding feature on the screen.
The company has confirmed all the rumors about the Kirin 900 SoC processor to be true. We do not have further information about the foldable smartphone. A release date has been announced for the phone on the Weibo website.
The way in which this phone is different from its predecessor is that it is an inward folding smartphone. The previous version was a foldable phone like Samsung Galaxy Fold. Huawei takes the game one step further with new additions and technologies.
According to the image leaked by the tipster, the smartphone will have two cameras in the front. The front camera setup will be in the shape of a pill on the top left corner of the outer screen. The primary screen does not have any socket for a camera. The screen to body ratio is very high, pointing to very narrow bezels.
A post on Weibo Digital Chat Station stated that the smartphone would have a screen size of 8.01 inches. The screen will be an inward folding display screen. The secondary screen will have a size of 6.45 inches. Huawei Mate X2 will have four cameras in the rear with a primary sensor of 50 MP camera, 16 MP secondary camera, and two more camera sensors of 12 MP and 8MP.
The primary sensor will sport a ten times optical zoom. The phone will get its power from a 4,400 mAh battery, which supports quick charging of 66 Watt.
The smartphone is all set to launch in China on the 22nd of February.
