Cyberpunk 2077: Director, Adam Badowski, Responds to Critics

Last Updated on January 18, 2021 by Amrit Chatterjee

CD Projekt Red’s head of the studio Adam Badowski is also the director of the latest launch, Cyberpunk 2077. Adam Badowski announced one of the significant statements (mentioned by Jason Schreier- a journalist and author of the gaming genre).

This announcement made explains a lot about the controversial reports of Cyberpunk 2077. More than 15 developers (all their names kept anonymous) of Cyberpunk 2077 were interviewed regarding the game’s comments. The significant findings from these interviews state that the 3rd Episode of the 2018 demo was a hoax. Cyberpunk, during that time, was not prepared for launch. There were also reports of a handful of staff who were isolated because of the difference in language. There were a maximum number of employees who were conversing in Polish.

Adam Badowski, director of Cyberpunk 2077, takes matters into his own hands and makes clarifications.

Adam Badowski decides to comment on a few of these rumors and reports. First- about the demo being considered as a hoax, Adam explained how the demo versions work in general. Demo versions clearly state that the final work is not over.

The product is undergoing a lot of work to make it perfect. He also commented on the article stating that the demo versions look a lot different from the games’ real ones. While making the demo versions, a lot of things are experimented with to bring out the best. The demo versions only match the real product when the game is completely ready but just left with a few final touches.

While being asked about the employees’ interviews, he replied that just those handful of developers were not the only employees working on the game. Other 500 employees were working as well. These few anonymous developers were all ex-employees.

Adam addresses the conversing language issue and says that while working on Cyberpunk 2077, they were all conducted in English whenever there were any official meetings. The company mails and notifications were all in English. The people working on Cyberpunk 2077 belonged to different parts of the world, from around 44 different countries. It might so happen that there are multiple employees from one country, and they can start conversing in their language amongst them.

Jason Schrier appreciated Adam Badowski because of his reply via a tweet. He mentioned that then the team of employees did not answer any of his questions when asked them. His article was published before anyone opened their mouth.

Although Adam Badowski’s clarifications do sound convincing, there is no doubt that Cyberpunk 2077 has some severe issues with the gameplay. Cyberpunk 2077 created a lot of excitement among the players. After the launch, the expectations dropped a bit due to the lags and the bugs. (Check the game here).

The path has not been that smooth as of now, but we can surely hope for good results, with Cyberpunk 2077 being such a huge title. Facts will speak later on as time progresses and the game is made better by developers via updates. The players still have a lot of hope left with the game. The graphics have been really worked upon and looks eye smacking.
