OxygenOS 11 Update In OnePlus Series Smartphones Confirmed!

As confirmed from a forum post by the company, OnePlus Nord will receive it is first OxygenOS 11 Open Beta to build from next week onwards, followed by the OnePlus 7 and 7T series. But as OnePlus is typically regarded as a brand that used to be fantastic at releasing upgrades to its smartphones, it’s a little surprising as they’ve only been able to upgrade two devices to Android 11, OnePlus 8, and OnePlus 8 Pro. They were revised in October, while the 8T edition of Rs. 42999 had OxygenOS 11 straight out of the box.

In fact, they have been late in updating the Nord, and 7 series models than what was expected, even lagging behind Samsung, who rolled out Android 11 to some of their models.

OxygenOS 11 Update In OnePlus Series Smartphones Confirmed!

OxygenOS Product Lead, Gary C has posted on the OnePlus forum, that the mid-ranger OnePlus Nord is the next model in the line to receive the Android 11 update, receiving its first OxygenOS 11 Open Beta build next week. Since it was posted yesterday, on Saturday, it seems the update is to arrive this week.

OnePlus declared they will release a staged roll-out after the feedback from the open beta and fine-tuning the software has been received. We don’t know for sure how soon it’s going to be, so we hope it’s going to be by the end of this month.

As far as the OnePlus 7 and 7T series are concerned, OnePlus reported that it had begun the Closed Beta test after the data encryption problem that they discovered when attempting to port Android 11 to the models. They expect to release an Open Beta for the phones soon but didn’t specify the date.

For owners of any older OnePlus handset, it is important to remember the OnePlus release of an upgrade to OxygenOS 11, which is focused on Android 11, on the timeline for eligible devices.

They also announced that only the OnePlus 6, Nord N10 5G, and Nord N100, as well as the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T, will receive an upgrade to OxygenOS 11, which means that the OnePlus 5 series will not be among those to be upgraded to Android 11. And there are no changes to the timetable that this is going to happen. OnePlus said further information would be revealed later.
