Live-Action Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War Film is about To Get A Sequel This Summer

Kaguya-Sama: Love is War was adapted as a Japanese film in 2019, from a manga series of the same name created by Aka Akasaka,  directed by Hayato Kawai, and distributed by Toho. Shueisha announced a live-action film adaptation for the series being in production on February 21, 2019, and it was premiered in Japan on September 6, 2019. the sequel of Kaguya-Sama: Love is War film, most probably to be out in summer. 

It follows a romantic plot where the leads are the characters Miyuki Shirogane, the student council president, and Kaguya Shinomiya, who is the vice president. The hero Miyuki is one of the topper students, quite well known across the school, while heroine Kaguya is the daughter hailing from a wealthy family. They make a perfect couple, but in spite of liking each other, none of them makes the first move to confess as they both believe that the one who does that loses out. The story follows the many ways which they try in order to make the other one confess.

The lead roles of Kaguya and Miyuki are played by Kanna Hashimoto and Sho Hirano, respectively. The rest is Hayato Sano as Yū Ishigami, Natsumi Ikema as Nagisa Kashiwagi, Nana Asakawa as Chika Fujiwara, Yūtarō as Tsubasa, Mayu Hotta as Ai Hayasaka, Masahiro Takashima as Miyuki’s father, Jiro Sato as Shōzō Tanuma, narrator. And Aoi Koga as Cinema Counter Girl, Amu Fukao as Kei Shirogane.

The voice actress Aoi Koga, playing Kaguya in the anime adaptation, had a guest role in the live-action film version as a movie theater employee.

So as far as we know, there’s not only a 3rd TV anime season, an upcoming OVA for Kaguya-sama: Love is War manga, but also a second live-action movie as well. When the first movie made premiered for TV last January 5, the two lead actors playing Miyuki and Kagura, respectively, Sho Hirano and Kanna Hashimoto, announced about a second movie being in the moves. 

There’s more confirmation received from the two actors about the sequel movie being premiered in Summer 2021. Though no more information has been revealed giving any details, more information is about to come in the next days!

The first movie got premiered last September 6, 2019. Let’s see how Viz Media describes it: “All’s fair when love is war! Two geniuses. Two brains. Two hearts. One battle. Who will confess their love first…?!”
