2020 has been one of the most depressing and terrible years. A global pandemic, economic troubles, people getting sacked from jobs, relationship issues, everything has been taking a toll on everyone this year(not all though!) and are totally related to each other. Today we gonna share what Johnny Depp shared with his fans as he specially made it to the news for some seriously terrible reasons. Let’s look into it!

Johnny Depp took Insta, seeking to persuade viewers that in the future, he will return as their favorite star with his letter of hopes for 2021. The 57-year-old Hollywood star shared a photo of him with Shane MacGowan, the lead singer of The Pogues, with a message of positivity for the holidays.

The actor wrote: “This year has been so hard for so many. Here’s to a better time ahead.” Depp also encouraged fans with his greetings and wishes during the ongoing crisis, though he himself suffered greatly, saying: “Happy Holidays, everyone! My love and respect to you all. Eternally, JD. X”.

While his holiday greeting to fans is specifically for the fans reading and doesn’t include any thoughts for himself, it isn’t easy to imagine that Depp isn’t hoping that 2021 is a better year for him personally as well.

Depp’s Troubled 2020

The pandemic this year isolated most of the world and caused many to lose loved ones and battle numerous issues in life. And 2020 has also been a tough year for Johnny Depp personally.

Depp made it to the headlines, and sadly, the reason was not box office success or winning awards! It was because of his legal struggle with his spouse Amber Heard.

Unfortunately, 2020 was also supposed to be the only year that he made the journey to court, and due to the pandemic, that also didn’t work out.  The cases which he had were a libel suit against The Sun in the U.K.  for branding him “wife-beater” and a defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard in the U.S., both set for 2020. The trouble is, like everything, legal proceedings also got delayed, and as a result, one of those two cases has been heard and decided upon, but the second one is still upon him.

Depp’s Case Details

The libel case against Amber Heard, which was heard in 2020, didn’t go Johnny Depp’s in favor. The court found in favor of tabloid The Sun, which branded Depp as a “wife-beater’ in its pages. Depp decided to appeal the decision, but that will lead to stretching his own legal problems. The defamation case against Amber Heard in the state of Virginia is about to be presented before the court this spring, though there’s the possibility of more delays, either due to the pandemic or due to the backlog so common in legal cases due to the pandemic.

After losing the libel case against Amber Heard, Johnny’s lawyers have complained and expressed displeasure in the Court of Appeal that he  “didn’t receive a fair trial”

and said that the fact of his assault on his wife and make her fear for life was also“plainly wrong”.

Impact On Depp’s Career

The legal battles somehow blotted on his image and also impacted his career. He was supposed to be in the cast of Fantastic Beasts 3 right now, but post-verdict in the libel case, he and Warner Bros. parted ways and didn’t move ahead on the project. Almost three years later, on Nov. 6, Depp announced on Instagram that Warner Bros. had asked him to “resign” from playing Grindelwald in the third “Fantastic Beasts” film. “I have respected and agreed to that request,” the actor wrote. Warner Bros. confirmed Depp’s withdrawal with a brief statement, thanking Depp “for his work on the films” and confirming “the role of Gellert Grindelwald will be recast.” It was decided that the role of Grindelwald will be taken over by Mads Mikkelsen.

While this loss didn’t reportedly cost Depp in the short term, his contract said that he should be paid fully for the film, despite shooting a single scene. Many assume that the character was meant to appear in the other two planned movies, which won’t happen for Depp. He is also no more a part of Pirates of the Caribbean 6.

After all our shares of sufferings this year, we are glad that 2020 is finally going to be over. We know that things can’t be repaired magically by the new year, but at least we can hope tightly that things will definitely be easy on us in 2021!! Let’s hope for a year when our troubles get solved, for each one of us and for our favorite Johnny Depp too !! Stay tuned for more Updates!!
