World War II-era saw the world’s invasion by a mysterious alien force known as the Neuroi, who took on forms like aircraft and used to spread a corrosive miasma. Then the armed forces of the world left their quarrels to fight the Neuroi threat.

But the regular weapons didn’t affect the Neuroi’s technology, so the military took help from Witches after their plans failed.

In the year 1940, June 5, everything went dark at night at the Empire of Karlsland at Capital City Berlin. Humanity saw the sudden appearance of mysterious enemies called the Neuroi. After attacking the City, they caused havoc, managing to destroy Europe mostly. At a time when most people lost their shelters, in the crucial hour, humanity developed a new weapon whose sole purpose was to defeat the Neuroi.

Using their technology, the witches created a magically-powerful girl who was under the Striker Unit, and the witches gathered them against Neuroi. The elite unit of witches consisted of the allied forces’ 501 joint fighter wing. They became known to the world as the Striker Witches.

The Witches were inspired by famous real-life pilots and used to grow animal ears and tails using their magic. They used special machines known as Striker Units, which featured designs based on real-life aircraft to fly through the sky and fulfill their mission.

Suomus is an independent volunteer Aerial Squadron that focused on a dogfighter named Tomoko Anabuki. The young girl is Yoshika Miyafuji from the Fuso Empire, who joined the titular Strike Witches to investigate her father’s death and wanted to defeat Neuroi. The brave Witches teamed up with another Fuso girl named Hikari Karibuchi, who joined to replace her injured sister Takami.

The Neuroi aimed to destroy the port, which Yoshika used her shield to keep it in the air. But the Strikers managed to find its core and blast it because Yoshika passed-out but thankfully picked up before falling on the ground. According to the doctors, Yoshika required ten days to recover her magical powers. But the military doesn’t wait; they launched another attack using the Landkreuzer P. 1000 Ratte escorted by the 501st.

Ratte was unaware of Yoshika’s being part of the battle. Ratte’s crew are covered by special armor to deflect Neuroi attacks in their fight. After learning that Yoshika was a part of the war, the 501st planned to bypass the barrier by using some underground tunnels to rescue her.

For those who are eager for the spoilers, here you go, The Strikers boarded on planes and reached the required zone. The bombers had been ordered to prepare the anti-Neroui fuel-air bombs. Yoshika calms Shizuka telling her that being nervous is normal and that she should back her up.

They started their attack on the Neuroi-holds with explosives, and everything exploded, followed by an attack directly on the core by the 501st, which was protected by Yoshika’s massive shield.

Getting chased by a bomber-type Neuroi; Shizuka decided to destroy its core after locating it. Meanwhile, at Kiel, the military prepared for their next move and planned to use Yoshika’s magic power.

Suddenly, a bomber Neuroi attacked the poor and left Yoshika to recover. In contrast, they clash with the Neuroi. Shizuka tries using the same earlier attacks that she used to defeat the Neuroi, but the core is not where she expected.
