‘Dune’ And ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Facing Collision For Their Release
The legendary production company has co-financed both the movie ‘Dune’ and ‘Godzilla vs. Kong.’ It has drawn up the finance to a significant part of Timothee Chalamet starred ‘Dune’ which is almost priced at $175 million, and ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ which almost costs $160 million.
Over this expense, they are claiming that they are out for finalization sessions, which even involves the announcement for distribution. Now the shift the Warner bros. is shifting its $160 million budget to HBO max to stream, which is not actually accepted by legendary entertainment. They are not willing to make such decisions for their millions of proving to.
Even it’s also noticed that the shift of the movie depends upon the producers of the movie, but here warner bros are taking the decision to change the theatrical release suddenly to stream over HBO max.
In this case, it usually normal for Warner bros to shift its seven-month-old streaming platform, but for legendary entertainment, it’s hard to take off. They do not want to make any loss for this big project. Although Warner here considers themselves as they have the power to change the platform easily, which is not acceptable.
In previous reviews, Warner Bros had made an announcement that they are going to send a total of 17 films, which are all slated for the theatres of 2021, along with the HBO Max streaming service.
News also updates that Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. have frequently collaborated for this. Both the productions had earlier collaborated for Christopher Nolan directed ‘Dark Knight’ trilogy or ‘The Hangover’ movies and the ‘Godzilla’ franchise.
But, ‘Dune’ director Denis Villeneuve is not so happy with such news and already disappointed with the HBO Max plan. He prefers a more common theatrical release for his movie instead of HBO service to stream.
As for now, updates say that the theatrical release date for the upcoming ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ is scheduled for debut on May 21, 2021, and for ‘Dune,’ it’s scheduled to open on October 1, 2021. But if the movie starts streaming over any other platforms, then it’s hard to assure these dates for now.
