Madden 21, the next generation of football video gaming is, officially launched on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S this week. The new-generation version of Madden 21 releases on the 4th of December, but you can get it a bit early with Dual Entitlement. As mentioned earlier, people who already have the PS4 or Xbox One version of the game will get a free upgrade to their Play Station 5 or Xbox Series X|S version. Here’s how it is going to work.
The next-generation Madden 21 releases during this week and those who have the game on Playstation 4 or Xbox One are eligible for Dual Entitlement on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Madden 21: Upgrade the Digital Copy of the Game
If you’ve purchased a digital version of the game Madden 21 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you can easily download a digital copy of the game on PS 5 or Xbox Series X|S from the PS Store or the Microsoft Store. Upgrading it will not cost you any money.
Madden 21: Steps to upgrade the physical copy of the game
If you bought a CD for this game on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and purchased an Xbox Series X|S or PS 5 with a drive, put it in the disc, and you’ll be able to download a digital specimen of the next-generation module.
It would get a little problematic if you buy a disc of the game. Since there’s no disc drive in the mentioned gaming consoles, you’ll have to contact EA support to authorize the purchase using account info.
The next-gen update will only work in the same family of consoles so that the PS4 version can be updated to the Play Station 5 version. For Xbox One, it’s the Xbox Series S and X version.
Madden 21 can be played on Xbox Series X|S and PS 5 in offline mode. The servers for this online gameplay will likely go live on the 4th of December, 2020.
