Fans of The Expanse are in for a treat, as the show has given the green light for the sixth season. Fans are currently awaiting the release of The Expanse Season 5, and we are glad to let you know that the show will continue beyond the fifth season. However, it’s both good and bad news, as according to official reports from Amazon, The Expanse Season 6 will be the final installment of the series.

The bittersweet update was shared just a few hours ago, and fans can’t decide what to do now. According to a report from Deadline, season 6’s production tentatively will commence in January of 2021. We are still waiting for Amazon’s official word regarding season 6, so we will have to rely on Deadline’s update till then.

Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove revealed that they have worked ‘tirelessly’ to honor the original writers’ concepts. They added that they have been ensuring that the quality stays top-notch from the very beginning of the show and hopes to maintain it for the next two seasons as well. Talking about the cast, they revealed how much they were proud of their diverse cast and honored the writers and the executive producers.

In a separate interview, Shankar said,

The dedication and artistry of everyone who helps bring The Expanse to the screen is incredible. Our fans are awesome, and we cannot wait to get rolling on Season 6.

Amazon confirms The Expanse Season 6

The official plot of the sixth season will depend on how season 5 unfolds. The Expanse Season 5 is only a few weeks away, and if reports are to be believed, it will be very intense and will set the tone for the concluding installment. We can’t wait to see what the creators have planned for us in the imminent season.

Most of the original characters will return in season 5 to reprise their roles. That includes Thomas Jane, Steven Strait, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham, and Frankie Adams. They will play the roles of Joe Miller, James Holden, Alex Kamal, Naomi Nagata, Amos Burton, and Bobbie Draper. Cas Anvar will make his return; however, fans won’t see him in season 6. Due to several allegations made against him on the ground of sexual misconduct, he will miss season 6.
