The legal drama All Rise Season 2 premiered yesterday (i.e.,16th November 2020) with its very first episode, and fans of the show are delighted to watch the intense drama. Created by Greg Spottiswood, the show made its debut back in September of 2019, and the story is based on Steve Bogira’s Courtroom 302.

The first season performed quite well. It racked up an approval rating of 56% on Rotten Tomatoes, while the average rating stood at 5.98. The show received a renewal for season 2 earlier in May of 2020.

Season 2 has premiere only its first episode, and things have already gotten interesting. Lola’s big news was revealed, which was followed by an unexpected breakup.

All Rise Season 2 delivers a major shocking revelation

The episode kicked off with a flashback, where Lola was suffering emotionally, and she went to her husband to share her pain. However, surprisingly, she revealed to Robin that she is soon going to be a ‘mother.’

Apart from this, Lola’s friendship with Mark also received a severe blow. The latter didn’t react positively to Lola’s scuffle with the police, and Lola didn’t take it lightly.

In a recent interview with TV Line, the showrunner, Harris-Lawrence revealed how season 2 is different than the first instalment. According to her, season 1 focused on Lola finding her voice and stance as a ‘judge.’ However, season 2’s Judge Carmichael is ‘How will you use your voice in the wake of what is happening in the country, but even more specifically in Los Angeles, today?’

Discussing the major revelation, Harris told that Lola was ‘ambivalent’ about her pregnancy; however, her mindset changed once she shared it with Robin. Harris added that both Robin and Lola have to make changes and choices as juggle between their high-demanding jobs and parenthood.

Also, another interesting development is the breakup of Emily and Luke. This was also a major shocker, and even Harris told about the same experience that Greg Spottiswood had, when heard idea for the first time.

Season 2 will continue to explore the tension between Mark and Lola’s friendship. In an exclusive interview with ET, Wilson Bethel said:

It’s a relationship between a Black woman and a white man who had very different experiences in the world, partly because of who they are.

Bethel added that he wants to explore the idea more and focus on how both of them do things indecisively and hurt each other in the process.
