Stranger Things Season 4 is one of the high-anticipated tv shows of recent times, and after the explosive ending of season 3, fans can’t wait to see what lies ahead of the gang. One thing is for sure that fans have suffered due to the delay of season 4, and if the latest reports are accurate, the official release date is still a big ‘confusion.’

Stranger Things Season 4’s release is still being monitored, and given the current development, it seems less likely for the show to return before 2021. Well, one might see this as a disappointment; the same is not the case for the creators. The show producers and creators are taking full advantage of the delay to refine their scripts to perfection.

According to Stranger Things’ producer, the delay due to the pandemic has affected the show ‘positively.’

In an interview with Collider, he revealed that the delay allowed the Duffer brothers to finish writing the scripts before shooting, and they re-worked them the way they have never done in the past. He explains that the screenplay for the season is ‘exceptional.’

Shawn Levy’s exact statement reads:

I’ll just say the pandemic definitely massively delayed shooting and therefore the launch of our current Season 4, date still TBD. But it impacted very positively by allowing the Duffer brothers, for the first time ever, to write the entire season before we shoot it and to have time to rewrite in a way that they rarely had before, so the quality of these screenplays are exceptional, maybe better than ever.

Earlier, Matt Duffer told Deadline that they already know where the show is heading and how it will end. He explained that the team has worked on a 25-page sort book of Stranger Things Mythology, and with every season, they have tried to show little by little.

Keeping this in mind, the recent update from the show-runner might indicate that the Duffer brothers might have added a little change in approach. The way the story concludes might differ from the original plan, and it will be interesting to see the build-up.

Season 4 will focus on the gang and the new horror that seems to emerge in the States. According to the official reveal, it “something that connects everything.” We also know that Hopper is good, and he will try to make it out alive from the frozen wastelands of Kamchatka, Russia. Season 4 will also focus on Hopper’s backstory, which is directly related to the boxes labeled ‘New York,’ ‘Dad’ and ‘Vietnam,’ shown in season 2.

Season 4 will also welcome a new face and is expected to have an important role in the storyline. We have already covered a detailed post on that, so you can refer to that for more details.

Stranger Things Season 4 might not arrive before 2021. Nevertheless, we will keep you updated as soon as we get confirmation from Netflix.
