Cyberpunk 2077 has been on a roller coaster ride so far, and we are extremely disappointed to tell you that the game has been delayed yet again. This news might catch you off guard, but it’s 100% legit, as the official confirmation comes directly from CD Projekt.

Arguably the biggest game of this year, Cyberpunk 2077 has received a barrage of delays lately, and things don’t seem to be at ease even now. Just when we thought that it would no longer be delayed, CD Projekt dropped the bomb. According to the latest confirmation, Cyberpunk 2077 will now be released in December 2020.

Fans will have to wait a little bit longer; however, we are sure that the company made the decision for the best. According to Projekt Red, the delay is because of the release patch that they are currently working on. The game will be released across several platforms and the next-gen consoles, so the delay will give them ample time to work on the release patch.

Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to arrive on 19th November 2020; however, the game received a 21 days delay.

Their official statement read:

The biggest challenge for us right now is shipping the game on current-gen, next-gen, and PC at the same time, which requires us to prepare and test nine versions of it

They added further that the delay was required to make sure that the game’s smoothness across all platforms remains the same.

Also, they explained that despite 21 days might seem like a very short window; it makes a massive difference in the end product. You can check the official tweet by the team below.

The development will definitely let many fans down, as the developers already promised that the game wouldn’t receive any more delays. We are disappointed with the news as well, but it’s safe to assume that it’s all for the best. Countless times, we have had to deal with games that seemed rushed in development, and no one enjoys an unfinished product.

Because Cyberpunk 2077 is such an ambitious project, any delay will obviously mean that the devs are having a hard time. So, it’s best that they should take time and come up with a fully developed and optimized game.

We already know that the game is completed, as it went ‘Gold’ a long time ago. However, CD Projekt stressed that just because the game ‘passed certifications’ doesn’t mean the devs can’t work further to raise the quality.

On the contrary, this is the time where any improvements are being made which will then be distributed via a Day 0 patch. This is the time period we undercalculated

Cyberpunk 2077 Release Date: [New]

Cyberpunk 2077 will now be released on 10th December 2020. It will be available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, PS5, and Google Stadia.
