This whole development is a part of Apple’s “expanded partnership with WildBrain.”
The platform has already tasted success with other shows. They are now planning to acquire the rights of more cartoons, thereby expanding their subscriber base. Reports also suggest that more Charlie Brown shows are in the works, so it’s a part of something big.
Meanwhile, fans aren’t too happy with Charlier Brown moving from ABC. Some of them added the development as yet another disappointment of the year 2020. A user tweeted,
Apple can kiss my great pumpkin for taking Charlie Brown from us. Can’t we have something normal in 2020?
With countless memes and gifs of outranging, fans are upset that the decades-old tradition is now no more. Critics believe that these old cartoons are ‘sacred’ for the Americans, and turning it into a part of a profit-scheme is unethical.
Apple TV+ is an ad-free subscription-based video streaming platform. It costs $4.99 a month and is available on Amazon Fire Stick and Roku TV.
